He joins Mikkel Jensen and Laurens Vanthoor at the Woking-based team
Alex Lynn has become the third driver to join the McLaren Hypercar project for 2027.
Shortly after confirming his departure from Cadillac Hertz Team Jota, Lynn has joined Mikkel Jensen and Laurens Vanthoor as part of the team's first driver line-up.
Lynn has spent the last three seasons with Cadillac, during which time he has achieved four pole positions as well as victory at the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo in 2025.
Having spent much of the 2026 season on the sidelines with neck injuries, Lynn is set to return to action at the 6 Hours of Barcelona this weekend.
Lynn has acknowledged the challenge that lies ahead of both himself and the team, but has stated that McLaren CEO Zak Brown and Hypercar team principal James Barclay are laying the foundations of "what could be a championship-winning team".
Barclay has been similarly optimistic about Lynn's arrival, describing him as a "proven winner with extensive experience at the highest level of endurance racing".
