The team will have stability going into its second WEC season
Genesis Magma Racing will retain the same driver line-up in its two Hypercars for the 2027 World Endurance Championship season.
The team joined the Hypercar class of the WEC this year, and has enjoyed a strong rookie season in the series.
That all culminated with the team’s very first pole position at last weekend’s 6 Hours of Barcelona.
And given that the team is still continuing a journey of education as it learns more about its GMR-001 Hypercar, Genesis has decided that the right approach is to keep the same line-up for 2027.
That means Paul-Loup Chatin, Pipo Derani, Mathieu Jaminet, Mathys Jaubert and Andre Lotterer will all continue to race for the team next year.
Speaking about the announcement, Genesis Magma Racing team principal, Cyril Abiteboul said: “Continuity is essential at this stage of our program.

“Our drivers have built valuable knowledge of the GMR-001 Hypercar and strong working relationships with our technical team. They have also developed a positive dynamic and genuinely enjoy working together.
“Retaining the same lineup allows us to carry this experience and team spirit into 2027, continue developing the car efficiently and take further steps towards scoring points with both cars at every race.”
So far this season, the team has collected 14 points in the championship. It has achieved a best result of seventh at the 6 Hours of Spa and the Lone Star Le Mans, and has scored points in three of the seven rounds so far.
And there’s a chance it could get itself off the bottom of the points table at the final round of the season, as it heads into the 6 Hours of Monza 10 points behind Peugeot who lie seventh in the manufacturers’ standings.
