He will leave the team at the end of the 2026 WEC season
Malthe Jakobsen will leave Team Peugeot TotalEnergies at the end of the 2026 World Endurance Championship.
The team has confirmed that this year's season finale at Monza will be Jakobsen's final outing in the 9X8.
Jakobsen's partnership with Peugeot began with a rookie test at the end of 2022, following which he was named the team's junior driver in 2023 and secured a reserve role the following year.
He made his Hypercar debut at the 2025 Qatar 1812Km alongside Loic Duval and Stoofell Vandoorne.
The trio secured third place at the Circuit of the Americas later that year, which remains Jakobsen's best WEC result to date.

2026 has been a difficult year for both Jakobsen and Peugeot, with points scored in just three of the seven rounds so far.
However, Jakobsen and the rest of the No.94 crew did manage a shock pole position at Spa.
Stellantis motorsport director Olivier Jansonnie praised Jakobsen's contributions to the team and said, "it has been a privilege to see him grow as a driver and as a member of the team."
Jakobsen added: “Racing in Monza this weekend with Team Peugeot TotalEnergies for the final time, is something special after four unbelievable years with this fantastic team.
"They have made me feel a part of the family from day one at the Rookie test in Bahrain and have been a huge part of my growth as a person and racing driver, from junior to an official WEC driver!
"This has been an unforgettable chapter of my career, especially competing at Le Mans in the top category for the first time is a phenomenal memory!"
Though officially unconfirmed, Jakobsen is expected to move to McLaren, where he will join Mikkel Jensen, Alex Lynn, Laurens Vanthoor and Leonardo Fornoroli as part of the team's first-ever Hypercar lineup.
Jakobsen's Peugeot swansong will take place at the season-ending 6 Hours of Monza, which will take place on November 8, 2026.
