Le Mans 24 Hours 2026: Cadillac hold steady lead going into final third
There was heartbreak for one of the Cadillac's during the night
With a third of the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans left to run, it's Cadillac who lead with the No.12 car driven by Will Stevens.
The team was running first and second during the night until the No.38 car pulled into the pits with a suspected power steering issue and eventually retired.
The No.50 Ferrari also pitted shortly after the safety car restart with a suspected fire extinguisher issue. It eventually returned to the track seven laps down and is currently running 17th.
The No.8 Toyota led at the safety car restart and resisted significant pressure from the chasing Cadillacs. It currently sits second, 47 seconds off the lead.
The No.7 Toyota’s steady progress has enabled it to move into fourth ahead of the No. 51 Ferrari that caught and passed the No.35 Alpine at dawn.
After suffering mechanical issues in the night, No.19 Genesis stopped yet again before Tertre Rouge. Juncadella was able to get going again before a lengthy stop. The car is currently running 15th, four places behind the sister No.17 car.
Richard Verschoor currently leads LMP2 by a minute and 24 seconds. The Forestier and No.99 cars suffered offs in the early morning.
In LMGT3, the No.27 Aston Martin swapped the lead with the No.33 TF Sport Corvette. A drive-through for the Heart of Racing team handed the initiative over to their rivals, who currently lead by three minutes.
